ABOUT

Bristol Baughan is a Future Architect, TED Fellow, Emmy-winning and Oscar-Nominated film producer, who founded Inner Astronauts to help facilitate the embodied shift from ego to ecological consciousness.

I like to say I work for Redwood Trees.

After my first date with the elder giants of Yosemite, I immediately decided to move out of Los Angeles to Northern California to be in their presence. There is no softer spear of truth than a few hundred-year-old sequoia. “Don’t just focus on the Redwood tree,” Julia Lorraine Hill (known as Julia Butterfly Hill) once told me. “Pay attention to all the life surrounding it.”

I have spent my career and personal life focused on what is required to help facilitate a shift in worldview. From a mechanistic, anthropocentric, white savior perception of time, self, and nature into one that is more life-centered, interdependent, and community led. From disconnection to connection. From a focus on the tree to a focus on the tree and all of life surrounding it.

I had the honor of traveling for a few years with education reformer Sir Ken Robinson. He would often say, “Human resources are like natural resources; they're often buried deep. You have to go looking for them. You have to create the circumstances where they show themselves.” I realized in that moment that this is what I do with my classes, clients, stories and speeches. I create conditions conducive for human resources to be discovered and flourish.

After a decade spent focused on making feature films that inspire people to engage more deeply with themselves and the world and the next decade focused on the science and practice of behavior change, it has become clear that a new story is emerging. It is winding its way out of ancient rainforests into mainstream culture, wiggling through the cracks of dissolving systems of separation, and birthing beautiful new worlds through courageous souls willing to lead.

What is your role? Together we will explore the question until you become the answer.”

Bristol spent a decade in the film and media business making Emmy-winning and Oscar-nominated films at GOOD for HBO, Paramount, and Showtime.

Bristol founded Inner Astronauts to invite people to shift from the relentless pursuit for "more" (achievement, money, love) and into aligned purpose and authentic contribution.

She works with leaders around the world through individual and group coaching in how to alchemize this drive for "more" into loving service of people and planet.

WHAT LEADERS HAVE SAID ABOUT WORKING TOGETHER

Working with Bristol was the single best gift I have given myself, and her coaching and support have become a part of my subconscious.

My friends who have been lucky enough to work with Bristol all share the same sentiment; we are forever grateful to have come in contact with one of this world’s greatest guides.
